The Gallery Black Coal Paint - Instructions for Use

Important: it is recommended that painting is performed outdoors or in a well ventilated area away from items that can be affected by paint drift (sofa's etc). Always wear goggles, gloves and mask.

Remove coals from the fire, carefully noting where they are placed. (we suggest you make a diagram and lay out the coals according to your diagram). Ensure the gas coals are de-dusted and any loose fibres removed. For other applications, remove all old paint, rust and dirt and ensure the surface to be treated has cooled before spraying.

Surfaces nust be dry before spraying.

Mask areas not to be painted. If painting has to be performed in situ, mask off any areas that do not require painting and cover all soft furnishings and ventilate the room. Leave protective covers down for at least one hour after painting.

Before spraying, shake can of The Gallery Black Coal Paint vigorously for one minute and again between bursts.

Coal Paint must be applied thinly and evenly and layers built up, several thin coats are better than one thick coat.

After use, to prevent nozzle from blocking, invert can and spray for a few seconds.

Allow 2-3 hours between each coat to allow paint time to cure. Allow 24 hours before using near a fire.

Coals develop natural lightening and shading where continued exposure to flames will gradally burn off the paint. Coals can be re-painted many times and this will not affect their perfomance.
