Water Seal

HG Hagesan Water Seal HG Hagesan Water Seal Ref: HG398

Excessive rain penetration can cause damp patches on walls. The moisture attracts dirt from the atmosphere, so that the wall appears grimy. In addition mould can then develop and green algae can grow. If the dampness penetrates inside then patches of mould can form on the interior walls, creating a damp and musty smell.

By treating the outside wall with HG Hagesan Water Seal, water can no longer penetrate the wall, so problems caused by excessive moisture are unlikely to occur. HG Water Seal has been developed using the latest chemical technology.

HG Water Seal allows the wall to continue to breathe, is very simple to apply yet remains active for at least 10 years.

HG Water Seal is also suitable for all other constructions from concrete, brick, sand-lime brick and all other porous stones (for the prevention of grime and cracking through freezing).

Coverage: Dependant on the porousness of the surface to be treated, 2 - 10 m² per litre.

HG Hagesan Water Seal Usage Instructions

Directions for Use:

Preparation:

1. For the optimum lifetime of the treatment of HG Water Seal we recommend:

a) First clean the surface that you are going to treat. You can use HG Polish, Wax and Dirt Remover (HG Remover) for this purpose; or for nitrous deposits (brick mildew) or masonry deposits should preferably be removed using HG Cement, Mortar and Efflorescence Remover (HG Limex). For green algae deposits use HG Green Slime Remover.

b) Repair holes or cracks and bad pointing.

2. Cover adjacent paint work, sills windows, window frames etc.

Applying HG Water Seal treatment:

1. Read the notes headed 'Attention' first. (see below)

2. The surface must be dry and dust free.

3. Apply HG Water Seal with a brush, roller or pump spray. Always work from top to bottom and apply in horizontal layers from left to right.

4. Always apply two or more layers of HG Water Seal to the surface, in order that it becomes saturated. It is better to apply two thin layers of HG Water Seal than one heavy layer.

5. Do not cover more than 2 m² at a time.

6. Apply subsequent layers of HG Water Seal whilst the underneath layer is still wet. That means that one layer should not be left to dry before the next is applied.

7. Do not apply HG Water Seal in the sunshine or upon warm wall surfaces.

Coverage: Dependant on the porousness of the surface to be treated, 2 - 10 m² per litre.

Attention:

+ Glass should be covered first or else cleaned immediately afterwards.
+ Do not apply HG Water Seal if the air or ground temperature is lower than 5 ºC or if rain is expected within two hours.

+Tip: If you apply HG Water Seal with a pressure pump sprayer, then ensure there is no wind.
+ If HG Water Seal is to be used to protect flower boxes, etc against cracking from freezing, then you should treat the inside as well.
+ After opening, keeps for up to one year provided it is stored in sealed packaging.
+Tools can be cleaned with turpentine.
+ Wear gloves when applying HG Water Seal..
