Case of 6 x HG Tile Impregnating Protector (Product13) 1 Litre

PLEASE NOTE: This product is a Water Based Formulation.

Use HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) to impregnate porous terracotta tiles, brick, quarry tiles, victorian tiles, flagstones, un-glazed (porcelain or ceramic) tiles and natural stone floors and walls to protect against stains and stubborn marks.

For Marble, Travertine, Terrazzo, Limestone, Sandstone we recommend HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector which has smaller molecules and it is therefore slightly thinner to penetrate better on semi-porous materials.

To check the porosity of a surface to see if treatment is required use a tablespoon of water on the surface. If after 5-10 minutes none of the water has been absorbed into the surface, the surface is sealed and HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) is NOT required.

HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) penetrates deep into the surface and completely seals off small pores. Larger pores are made smaller meaning liquid molecules can no longer be absorbed. However any dampness in the floor can still evaporate and the surfaces can still breathe.

HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) leaves a matt finish, enhances natural colours, is quick drying and does not contain silicone. HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) is suitable for inside and outside use.

Coverage: Highly porous tiles: approx. 10-20 m² per litre, per treatment. Slightly porous tiles 20-40 m² per litre, per treatment

HG Hagesan Tile Impregnating Protector (HGP13) - Usage Instructions

Directions for use:

Make sure that an existing floor has not yet been treated with HG Impregnating Protector (HGP13) or another similar basic treatment. Carry out a porosity test if unsure.

It is advisable to ventilate well during the use of this product in order to speed up the drying process.

1. The surface to be treated with HG Impregnating Protector must be perfectly clean and free from grease and dirt. HG Cement Grout Film Remover (HG Extra) cleans off cement and grout stains from new floors.
HG Polish, Wax and Dirt Remover (HG Remover) strips old wax and deep cleans old floors. After rinsing off allow at least 3 days (24 hours with under floor heating) for the surface to dry thoroughly to ensure that Impregnating Protector can be fully absorbed. Turn off any floor heating 12 hours before treatment.

Highly porous tiles such as terracotta, will need even more time to completely get rid of the water. For this type of tile we recommend at least 1 week (24 hours with under floor heating).

2. The glue/cement and grouting of new floors must be completely hardened and dry. The drying time is usually 4-6 weeks.

3. HG Impregnating Protector is used neat (undiluted). Apply evenly, in one direction with our Superfine Roller.

4. If the HG Impregnating Protector has not penetrated and remains on the tiles 10 minutes (maximum) after application this will need to be removed straight away with a clean lint-free cloth*.

If the HG Tile Impregnating Protector is fully absorbed and no surplus is required to be wiped off, a second/third treatment may be needed until the HG Impregnating Protector s no longer absorbed.

* VERY IMPORTANT: Over application of HG Impregnating Protector is very common - a second coat is rarely needed and excess HG Impregnating Protector needs to be removed quickly. Excess Impregnating Protector will sit on the surface and will give a streaky appearance if left. If the Impregnator is allowed to dry on the surface it CANNOT be removed - it will have to be left to wear off.

After treatment with HG Impregnating Protector the surface should retain a matt appearance. Allow at least one hour before applying a second or more coats depending on porosity.

5. After approx. 3 hours the surface can be walked upon and is completely protected 12 hours after the final treatment.

For additional protection on brick, slate and other natural stone inside floors apply HG (Satin Gloss Polish) Protective Coating Satin Finish (HGP14). For additional surface protection on Terracotta floor tiles apply HG Terracotta Shine Seal or HG Terracotta Wax - available in two colours.

Once absorbed the treatment of HG Impregnating Protector is permanent.

Coverage: Highly porous tiles: approx. 10-20 m² per litre, per treatment. Slightly porous tiles 20-40 m² per litre, per treatment

Maintenance: 100ml (a cup) of HG Superfloor Shine Cleaner in 10 litres of water.

Attention: Keep in a frost free area. When using HG Impregnating Protector we recommend using protective gloves.
