Natural Stone Impregnating Protector

HG Hagesan Natural Stone Impregnating Protector (HGP32) - Usage Instructions

Directions for use:

Make sure that an existing floor has not yet been treated with HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector (HGP32) or another similar basic treatment. Carry out a porosity test if unsure.

It is advisable to ventilate well during the use of this product in order to speed up the drying process.

1. The surface to be treated with HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector (HGP32) must be perfectly clean and free from grease and dirt.

For the removal of cement and mortar stains, first clean with HG Marble and Cement and Lime Film Remover. Grime and old wax and polish layers have to be removed beforehand with HG Marble Stripper. Leave the floor to dry for 3 days after using HG Marble Stripper.

For really dirty floors use HG Super Remover.

After rinsing off allow at least 3 days (24 hours with under floor heating) for the surface to dry thoroughly to ensure that Impregnating Protector can be fully absorbed.

Highly porous tiles such as Sandstone, will need even more time to completely get rid of the water. For this type of tile we recommend at least 1 week (24 hours with under floor heating).

2. The glue/cement and grouting of new floors must be completely hardened and dry. The drying time is usually 4-6 weeks.

3. HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector is used neat (undiluted). Apply evenly, in one direction with our Superfine Roller.

TIP: On (high) gloss floors, HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector must be applied and polished out using a lint free cloth.

4. If the HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector has not penetrated and remains on the tiles 10 minutes (maximum) after application this will need to be removed straight away with a clean lint-free cloth.

If the HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector is fully absorbed and no surplus is required to be wiped off, a second/third treatment may be needed until the Natural Stone Impregnating Protector is no longer absorbed.

* VERY IMPORTANT: Over application of Natural Stone Impregnating Protector is very common - a second coat is rarely needed and excess HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector needs to be removed quickly. Excess Natural Stone Impregnating Protectorwill sit on the surface and will give a streaky appearance if left. If the Impregnator is allowed to dry on the surface it CANNOT be removed - it will have to be left to wear off.

After treatment with HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector the surface should retain a matt appearance. Allow at least one hour before applying a second or more coats depending on porosity.

5. After approx. 3 hours the surface can be walked upon and is completely protected 12 hours after the final treatment.

Once absorbed the treatment of HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector is permanent.

For additional surface protection see HG Natural Stone Protective Gloss Coating (HGP33) and HG Natural Stone Protective Coating Matt Finish (HGP34).

Coverage: Highly porous natural stone: 10-20 m² per litre. Slightly porous and high gloss natural stone 20-50 m² per litre.

Maintenance: Use HG Natural Stone Shine Restoring Cleaner (HGP37) or HG Natural Stone Polished Tile Cleaner (HGP38).

Attention: Keep in a frost free area. When using HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector we recommend using protective gloves.

TIP: If a floor treated with this product is not also treated with a specific surface protector such as HG Natural Stone Protective Gloss Coating (HGP33) or HG Natural Stone Protective Coating Matt Finish (HGP34) we recommend repeating treatment with this product every 1 to 2 years in walkways and intensively used areas. Protection of the top layer by this product will gradually be reduced as a result of general wear.
