Moisture Absorbers help to reduce the relative humidity in damp rooms and areas to an acceptable level. This helps reduce all the undesirable consequences of high humidity, such as condensation, a musty smell, mould, damp patches, vermin and wood rot.
We offer two types of Moisture Absorber systems - granular systems (non electric dehumidifier) and the NEW Pingi Range of Moisture Traps which can be dried out and re-used. Both systems effectively work to reduce condensation*, reduce damp and help prevent mould.

Granular Moisture Absorbers
The white calcium chloride moisture absorber crystals supplied with our granular Moisture Absorbers absorb excess moisture in the air, helping to bring humidity to an ideal and safe level (ideally about 50 percent humidity). Without excess moisture in the room or area, mold and mildew growth will be inhibited.
Calcium chloride, is a type of salt product. Because of its properties, as it begins to absorb moisture it begins to swell thus binding the crystals together. The salt is acting like a sponge pulling the water from the air and trapping it in the upper portion of the absorber. As the moisture absorber crystals solidify and have absorbed as much moisture as possible, they will begin releasing the water to the lower chamber of the Moisture Absorbers.
The absorption of excess moisture and the solidification of the crystals depend on the amount of relative humidity that is present in the area. Mildew and mold require moisture to grow. The optimal range for growth is 70-90% relative humidity. When the relative humidity is below 62% mold does not grow. Moisture Absorber Granules are produced not to dry the air to a level that damages the environment (plants etc.). Once the relative humidity drops below 60%, the calcium chloride crystals slow down or stop working and will restart again when necessary. The product works when it should and not when it does not have to.
Allow all the white crystals to dissolve before you add more, or else you may alter the absorption process.

PINGI Re-chargeable Systems
